Crater Fun Run

To raise money for field trips and new computers, the kids at Xander's school did a Fun Run.
Xander getting cheered on by his super sweet teacher Mrs. Smith. He never has a problem remembering his teacher's name.
Xander did a great job running the whole time. One mom even told me, "I think you've got a runner." Now, years and years ago, way before I had four kids I was a "runner" so that comment sure made me happy. Who konws, maybe someday, Xander and I could go on runs together...we'll see.
Checking out the competition...

Every time the kids completed a lap they got their card punched.

Super Kickers vs. Black-Out Tigers

Throw!
Score!
Kick!
Look at the concentration on these little guys' faces.

So far Xander is having a great time with soccer. It's his first experience on a team, and he's really enjoying it. The teams play two games simultaneously, 3 players vs. 3 players with no goalie. All the kids play the same amount, and no score is kept (ask any kid on the field and they know the exact score though). It's a great way for these little kindergartners to learn soccer and how to be good sports win or loose. Though the Super Kickers haven't lost a game yet (oops, that's right, we don't keep score!).

After the Game

"Gimme your latte!"
Some of Xander's cousins came to cheer for him (and the Beavers-look at all that orange!) during the big game.
Good game, good game, good game. We don't keep score (ha, ha). The Super Kicker's won!

Sick Day

Last Thursday our little guy wasn't feeling too well. It was a rare slow moving day for this usually busy and active boy.

End of Summer BBQ

Yes, they're both in their undies...it was hot, and best of all, no ketchup stains.
Sweet & simple, just the way we like it.

From Old to New

Hailey's old curtains got cut up and trimmed down; add some fabric from a cut-up twin sheet and a very, very late night (let's just say at 2 am my living room floor was covered with fabric, scissors, and an empty Hershey wrapper) and what do you get: some sweet little curtains to brighten her room. I wish I could say I made the quilt, but when I saw it hiding in the back of a clearance shelf for $20 (yes, that's right!), I knew it would be just the right thing for her room, and seriously-there's no time for quilt making these days.

And with fabric to spare, she has a coordinating changing table cover. I still have quite a bit of this fabric left, I planned on making a crib sheet, but elastic? I have no clue how to sew with that stuff. So for now, it'll sit with my fabric stash until my skills get a little better, or my mom comes to visit =), hint, hint.
