Wild Goose Chase

Last Saturday we went on a Wild Goose Chase. Our family loves a good challenge. The Wild Goose Chase was a multiple site geocache. What does that mean? First you print out a bunch of clues online. The first clue gives you a location to type into your GPS device. Once there you do something to help you find your next clue. For example, in the picture below you see Ava and Caden running by some large boulders. The second clue told us to take the number of boulders and multiply it by something and that would give the latitude and longitude to enter into the GPS to find our next clue. The next clue would take us to a memorial site with a year. We were then to find the sum of the year and multiply it by something (I don't remember all the crazy math stuff-I was there to take pictures...not do math!). It was super fun. There were 10 clues in all. The clues took us all over Prineville, it took us 4 hours to find the final spot where the treasure was. Once we found the treasure, we wrote our name and the date in the log to record that we had found it. The great thing about geocaching was it was fun for everyone.
