All the pieces cut and ready to be made into blocks. There's 'flying geese' and squares which probably have a name, but I don't know it.
Sewing the blocks together. This was the hardest and most fun part.
Progress of two types. Our dining room table has been taken over by Jory's dissertation. Usually, this type of clutter would drive me crazy, however I don't mind it sitting there. We've sorta enjoyed the change of pace of eating on our much smaller/cozier kitchen table and every time I walk by this pile of papers I hear the beautiful graduation jingle and get teary (tears of joy!) thinking that this journey of grad school will be over in just about 12 weeks!! Hip Hip Hooray!
Progress on the quilt-tomorrow I'll learn how to put the backing on and 'stitch in the ditch'. I decided hand quilting is something I'm sure I won't have the patience or time for. I signed up for the next round of quilting classes so I can learn how to make another type of quilt, but primarily because there is something so sweet about a group of ladies of all different ages getting together to make something with their hands, something beautiful and useful for their families. Plus, they're a pretty rowdy bunch and it's always a fun time.

Really? Only 12 more weeks till graduation? Wow. I'm very proud of our men and know I'll cry when Jon gives his little thank you at graduation.

Wow Your quilt is beautiful. Are you using the paper that tears away with your flying geese? It saves so much time....I actually enjoyed making them. Keep up the great work. Jan
